Glass Pendant Workshop

Fused Glass Pendant Workshop

Learn the basics of Kiln-Formed ("Fused") Glass and create 3 pendants for yourself or as gifts (Mother’s Day, maybe?). This fun “mini” workshop gives you a light introduction to fused glass. You will learn how it differs from other forms of art glass, what tools are used in creating a basic piece, and how to cut and grind the glass you will be using in your project.

You will then create your pendants using a colorful array of provided glass pieces and embellishments that you will adhere onto your glass “canvas”. Your pieces will be fired in a glass kiln to completely fuse your design into one piece, and will be ready for you to pick up the following week.

Class fee includes: all glass, equipment, and kiln firing for 3 pendants. Additional pendants can be made for $5 each (payable during class). Pendant cording and bales will also be available at class for purchase, if desired.  Beginners welcome! Ages 13 and up.

Fee: $75 general public. Reduced fees for UCSD students and faculty. A Craft Center account must be set up (it’s easy and can be done through the UCSD Account link below or by calling 858-246-4536)
