Glass Mini Trays

  • UCSD Craft Center 9655 Scholars Drive North La Jolla, CA, 92093 United States (map)

Create 3 mini trays - perfect to hold tea bags, rings, hair ties, votive candles, olive oil, and more! Several pattern cutouts will be available to use to create particular designs, or come up with your own! These little sweeties are great as gifts as well (and just in time for Valentine’s Day!).

No previous glass experience needed. You will be expertly guided along the way, and will be sent instructional videos in advance of the workshop so you can become familiar with several techniques beforehand. The trays go through two kiln-firings - the first firing fuses all components of the design into a single flat piece; the second firing slumps it into the tray mold to take the curved shape.

Note: Students can make up to 3 pieces; additional pieces can be made at $5 each. All glass art will be kiln-fired after class and ready for pick up at the Craft Center in approximately one week.

Registration Fee: UCSD Students: $60; UCSD Affiliates: $75; Community Members: $90 Includes 2 pre-class video instructions, in-class instruction, equipment, and 2 kiln firings for 3 pieces.

Material Fee: $15 (cash only, due at beginning of class)

Additional pieces can be made for $5 each (payable during class).
