Sun catchers in window

Fused Glass Garden Sticks

Spring is in the air, and your windows, potted plants, and gardens need some bling! Learn the basics of Kiln-Formed (“Fused”) Glass and create your own glass art to beautify your indoor and outdoor spaces!! This fun “mini” workshop gives you a light introduction to fused glass. You will learn how it differs from other forms of art glass, what tools are used in creating a basic piece, and how to cut and grind the glass you will be using in your project.

You will then create your pieces using a colorful array of provided glass and embellishments that you will adhere onto your glass “canvas”. Your pieces will be fired in a glass kiln to completely fuse your design into one piece, and will be ready for you to pick up the following week.

Class fee includes all materials, equipment, and kiln firing for two pieces. Additional sun catchers or garden sticks can be made for $10 each (payable with cash during class). Beginners welcome! Ages 13 and up.

Fee: $75 general public. Reduced fees for UCSD students and faculty. A Craft Center account must be set up (it’s easy and can be done through the UCSD Account link below or by calling 858-246-4536)
